Many years ago, I predicted that the escalators at 63rd and Lexington would never function properly, and I was right. Too right. There are a total of eight escalators at that station, and it's not uncommon to find three not working at any given time. That's why I know the TA will never be able to automate trains. If they can't keep escalators or walkways working, I don't think they can keep trains moving without someone there to move them. |
