Well, I know that one of R-7A #1575's bulkhead does contain a BMT terminal destination roll sign box, and that could be switched with one other R-1/9 in exchange. When in 2004, and during the time when #1575 was the south motor of a consist while in service on the BMT Broadway Line (between 57th Street-7th Avenue and Whitehall Street), it switched sign boxes so that it had a "Whitehall Street" reading on the front.Here is the proof... R-7A #1575, Canal Street-BMT Broadway Line, 12/19/2004. Oh, that's me in front of the storm door window on the left side of the photo.
