OK, here's that St. Francis circle pic I mentioned:

The car on the left is outbound on the K-Ingleside, while the other car is inbound on the M-Ocean View. To the left is West Portal Ave, which leads (appropriately enough) to the west portal of the Twin Peaks tunnel, built in 1917 to take Muni cars under the Twin Peaks to avoid a circuitous route around them. Just before West Portal station, the tracks of the L-Taraval meet up with the K and M.

Back to September '97, I was following 1423 down Church St, and got this pic when it was stopped.

1423 turning from Church St onto 30th St, headed to Balboa Park. This was the terminus of the J-Church for many years, until it was extended to Balboa Park in the late 80s or early 90s.

In November 1992, a friend and I were in town for the USC-Stanford game (USC lost) :( , and in the morning, we went by the cable car museum, which is above the car barn. After leaving the museum, we walked around the north side, and I saw the entrance to the barn, so I decided to take a pic of the cars inside. Some workers saw us, and invited us in! Not too many places that would happen (and post 9/11, probably not even at Muni) :(

Anyway, I got this pic:

And then this great pic:

Our host said that they had just built this car in the shops! I have seen others post pics of 13 on here in service, but I must say, I was probably to first to actually see it! :)

Found a couple more cable car pics, but my time is running out, so I'll post them next time.
