If I am not mistaken there was a G.O. concerning the D train and the Manhattan Bridge several years ago. Where I believe that D-trains from Sixth Avenue had to follow the K-train route to Essex Street. Then reverse direction and head down the Nassau Street line on the way to DeKalb Avenue. I believe that the Manhattan Bridge tracks were out of service for some reason. Now I am not sure what kinds of trains 75-footers or not were used during this procedure. I however remember that the amount of train traffic lead to tie-ups into and out of the Essex Street station. Does anyone else remember this?Mike |
