The Harlem River originally ran between W. 228th St (Manhattan) and W. 230th St. (Bronx) and then turned southwards along the west side of Exterior St, which always followed the Harlem River.During my childhood (1950's), I believe that W. 225th St. still ran on a bridge over dry land to connect to Kingsbridge Rd. at the Major Deegan. The area is now filled in and occupied by Target, etc. Bob |
