It's interesting to see that the LIRR purchased bi-levels which forced them to invest millions into building high-level platforms all over the system in the late 90's. NJT's bi-level cars can service both high and low level platforms with ease. Perhaps it was just an excuse for the LIRR to use in regards to closing many stations. |
