No, the LIRR should have purchased Genesis engines while it had the chance. Whatever "issues" the LIRR had with them could have been addressed long ago. At the very least, the LIRR should have committed to replacing it's ridiculously antiquated diesel fleet years ago, where better, established engines would have still been in production like the F59PHI. |
