I was there when they first filled in Main Street back in the late 70's. Glad to hear they got rid of it, it was a stillbirth from the start. Owned a store there at Main and Vassar called "Recon TV" ... had the street torn up for nearly a year and then no sidewalk at all for about a month. We had our customers "walking the plank" ...Ah yes, the world of "EmptyView transit" (Mt. View) and those police cars marked "Selective Enforcement." Ah well, at least truth in advertising. Heh. |
