Well, that is the precise likelihood of anything whatsoever being done about this problem in the next fifty years. But, if the MTA became convinced of the need to do something aboput headways on the 1, creating an intermediate terminal at 137th would be a lot cheaper than adding a fourth track, or reconfiguring the junction north of 96th.
