Actually, it was a cheapie joystick, the "Attack 3" model. Whole lot cheaper than programming your own PLA. Or even buying one. Reverser circuit is the Z axis, pair of 47K resistors, throttle is a set of three 33k ohm resistors shunted by the switches on the bottom to the X axis and the "ME-23" on a woodie is a 250k pot limited to half its normal travel range feeding the Y axis. Worked out perfectly. Since Microsoft requires "press any button to calibrate" that's what the black button does. The OPR/CAL switch is there because it wants to see those three resitors come up center-tapped so a separate pair of 47k's does that trick. It really works! =) |
