Thats where you are wrong.The METRO wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the NY SUBWAY. Metro suffered from the very same underfunding that NYCT did..by SEVERAL STATES and the DC GOVERNMENT. Also..Metro is "fairly new" compared to the NYCTA 100 year old system..so you can't compare one to the other. It's elevated structures will suffer the same way OUR concrete EL's will in the years down the line..if work isn't done to keep them "spiffy". So what if there are rats down there..there are rats EVERYWHERE...EVEN the METRO. |
