I like your response, but you forgot: the WMATA doesn’t have any 100-year old stations to rebuild either. Unfortunatley, it’s unlikely that either of us will be around in 2069 to see how the WMATA has coped with increasing maintenance needs.Though we might not have to: a lot of concrete structures start showing their age somewhere around the 40-50 year old mark. So the next 10 years should be interesting for the original Metro infrastructure. |
