If the MTA is really unable to afford the EMTs, then it has MAJOR problems and needs a top-to-bottom cleaning to find out where the waste is.Keep in mind the MTA's lawyers are already some of the lowest salaries in the industry. But the main problem is 2 Broadway and costs associated with it---and the MTA has basically been told to suck up and pay the overpriced tab. Unfortunately now, it would cost too much to ask some of that lease to be allowed to expire early and move many back-office workers to less-expensive real estate out of the city (as many companies have done). Of course, the problems with cars ordered under Kalikow's watch are now coming to roost...AFTER he has left and are another major money-eater. |
