Yeah, that's was the beautiful RKO Bushwick Theater. It closed in the early 70's to movies, was a church for a bout a year, and then no one every occupied it again. It fell into complete shambles by the late 90's, after 25-30 years complete neglect. Around 2002, the city took over it, and THANKFULLY, instead of tearing it down, they restored the beautiful exterior. The inside was not salvagable, as all the plaster was destroyed from years of rain pouring through the building, and while it is not a theater anymore, it was converted into the ACORN school of Social Justice, and serves the Bushwick community, and is now a beautiful building, an asset to the community. To their credit, they could have just torn it down and put up some non-descript school building in it's place. The place looks wonderful.
