That Daily News with the caption "YANKEES ARE CHAMPS" featuring Reggie on the cover was the first ever newspaper I bought with my own money. I was in third grade and when I brought it into the classroom my classmates went crazy! We sort of recreated the Yankee Stadium field invasion. Even my teacher was smiling. The Bronx may have been burning but PS 111 in Long Island City was in heaven!:-D |
