It certainly is a good idea but..I have another idea. It was reported by the American Public Transportation Association, that the Staten Island Railway had seen one of the largest increases in ridership in the nation.I think when it comes time for them to buy new trains, a fare-system at the more busier stations should be considered. If one enters at a free station and exits at a fare-zone station, they should be forced to either pay to leave or ride down to another free station. This would surely be cheaper than converting the entire line to a $2 fare as the MTA had in mind in the past. |
