There seems to be something fishy about this car. Stainless steel is not supposed to rust or rot. The small area above the rot doesn't loot like stainless steel but rather a painted surface.Just plating over this area with new stainless steel may hide the damage, but the structural integrity of that door sill may already be compromised causing the door not to open or close properly. If this car has to be written off and scrapped are there any other usable NYCT R-44 cars sitting around because their mates were scrapped ? Bill "Newkirk" |
