An interesting sidenote to GP38/R42 Chris' post: rather than the (QQ), the Brighton Local became (QB) - "Q via bridge" and (QT) - "Q via tunnel". When today's (J) was extended to Coney Island briefly, it became the (QJ) - "Q via the Jamaica Line". By 1970, it was cut back to Broad Street but kept the (QJ) through 1976. |
