No blades per se, but cutter wheels. The diameters vary from machine but these days very large diameters exist, which need less changing, but with a tungsten steel edge on the wheel, they are very pricey.The TBMs will require cutter changes as part of regular maintenance. How often will depend on the rock, TBM thrust, and cutter head wheel arrangement. |
