However, the PBA won't even work with the city in arbitration to get the pay rate raised, so that the NYPD doesn't have to hire problem people. Many want to work, but not for the pittance that the starting rate is. (The second-lowest paid officers in the region are, ironically, the MTA Police. The Port Authority is about in the middle.) |
