The tunnel was described in an engineering journal - but with a couple of changes I turned it into an April Fool's joke - The real tunnel has smaller dimensions and was built for the Consolidated Gas Company to carry gas lines from Manhattan to Queens, hence its termination point at what is today Keyspan. |
