Ie all the “issue advertising” that pollutes the airwaves.…give each candidate a questionaire about their positions on various issues, include a spot for them to state positions on issues not included on the questionaire, and if the candidate is an incumbent or has held a different political office before, then provide a concise voting record to show whether or not they have actually promoted the causes they say they stand for. The results, detailing every candidates positions and whether they keep their word on those positions, would be published… It’s called a manifesto. Parties in other countries actually write and publish these. Unfortunately, since they require an attention span of longer than a minute, nobody reads them. |
