We once stayed at SafariPark off route 222. The monorail was sold intact in good condition according to the article in Express Times and its fans got one last ride before it was shut down. The monorail was built by a company specialising in amusement park rides and not by a rail-builder. It had many years of reliable service with minimum costs versus a certain FOREIGN MANUFACTURE system which cost nearly a billion dollars that serves very few and took the life of a TO. Incidently, the weight simulation plates used for final acceptance of the R142s were welded corrugated interlocking plates that secured to the floor and each pack weighed approximatly 500 pounds each.
