So they had to wait a few minutes for the next one or (gasp!) take the local.

They should not have to pay a penalty for the conductor's mistake. They have a right to be pissed off.

The elderly or handicapped backtracking to, say, 90th or 82nd were given a reprieve.

How many would have known that and remained on the train. Most uneducated riders would get off at Junction Blvd. And they'd have to do the same thing at Willets Point.

This C/R screwed up. Reporting it to the MTA may have been excessive, but no employee has the right to rag on someone who does. The employee fucked up here, and that's just not acceptable.
