AND gee whizz why? BECAUSE it works with its exising passenger load
and maintainance is at a minimum. No crappy trackage, no wheel cutting in the yard, no busted shock absorbers or anything. Just an elevated I-beam with a enclosed 'third rail.' It's really simple tech not too much beyond my post-war Lionel setup.
