Yeah, and NYC would be crippled as a modern city in this country without it's roads, and without people and goods being mobile.Contrary to the stigma the roads get at rush hour, and some times of the day, the vast majority of the times, they DO move, and lots of vehicles, trucks, buses, cars, goods and people traverse them everyday. A small price to pay for the unfortunate rush hour look of the roads. At most times of the day they do spead up travel throughout the NY Metro area. All that movement could not have been absorbed by local roads. And NYC does not need to be the only city stuck in the 1800's as some here would appear to like it to be. |
