I think he understands perfectly well.You weren't specific enough in what you were asking for. When you say "Robert Moses Transit Guy" you mean the good and the bad, not just the good. You can't separate the two because to get things done he had to upset people and go against the democratic processes. If you meant someone who got things done like Robert Moses but someone who also listened to the people you should have said so and I would have responded differently. But that wouldn't have been Robert Moses. One of the most interesting things in the Caro book was Moses' failed run for governor. If Caro is correct, Moses was probably the only person who ever ran for office where campaigning actually hurt him. Caro asserts that many of his supporters withdrew their support for him only after attending one of his lecturing campaign speeches where he displayed that he was an arrogant bastard. |
