Although there is no longer a commuter tax, I pay $thousands each year of NYS tax - some of which does go back to the city. Also, the company I work for, whose profits I contribute to, certainly pays city taxes. I attend Broadway shows, museums, ball games, etc. that contribute to the city's economy. I must disagree with you when you say people like me don't contribute! My dog is named Teddy, not Fluffy, and I have 1.0, not 2.5 children :-) |
