I am truly edified! Yes, Jeff, my starting point would have been the formula you presented. But, I was totally going to forget about the fact of the two rigid axels per truck! Also, earlier, you (or someone) mention "super elevation" does that mean banking?
Back to the semi ridigid truck. So that explains the strange look on the R142 jurnals. I always wondered about that design. Final point; what about single axel trucks. Did not some old European freight cars use them? Obviously that's a problem for heavy cars like BMT Standards, but what the newer lighter designs.....
