It’s a Leslie Green station. If you see the iconic terracotta tiles and arched windows, you can be sure that the building was once a headhouse of the Piccadilly, Northern or Bakerloo lines.And within the Circle, there are IINM just two surviving that aren't on the Picc: Goodge Street and Oxford Circus. Goodge Street isn't exactly the most used station inside the Circle, whilst you generally can't see Oxford Circus station for the crowds, so the Leslie Green headhouses have a strong (if slightly erroneous) association with the Piccadilly Line. Oh, and even London Underground's cartographers only think there are three... ;-) |
