Posted by Zman179 on Thu Dec 14 17:05:43 2006, in response to Re: Flats ain't nuttin'...was Re: Flat wheel spots on the R46, posted by South Brooklyn Railway on Thu Dec 14 16:21:05 2006. Couldn't. We had to stop in the station and remain there for a couple hours for fear that if we were to continue that the armature would completely disconnect and cause a derailment. Fortunately, we were at a station where other trains could easily run around us. Once the RCI came and disconnected the motors (which cut off direct power to the armature,) the train was then able to limp directly to the CI main shop for immediate truck replacement. |
