A spot is a dot....a flat requires damage of several inches of tread cutting to attain damage of significance to 1/8th" of depth or more per NYCTA standards. A 36" diameter wheel has an approximate circumference of 112" and a to get a flat of 1/8" deep requires a skid 4" in legnth....just don't cite me as a 'nuklear' mathemetician.Wheels stay crispier longer with the use of Crisco.
