They're plenty sophisticated, just require some tuning which is not at all uncommon. I don't know if it's the case with the M-7's but propulsion systems are so higly integrated with other systems that sometimes you have propulsion system problems creating issues for other systems (and vice versa). As an example, frequent propulsion system shutdowns on a given car may result in no dynamic brakes which in turn results in much greater friction brake usage which finally may result in premature wear and/or failure of air brake equipment and may even affect wheel life! |
