On R-68s and R-68A there are no A and B cars. The odd cars continue to have their cabs and could be restored to be operating cars if needed. This is not true with R-44 and R-46 cars where the B cars have no cab or operating controls.Now for a bit more of subway knowledge. An odd car on an R-68 is always just one car from an operating position. If there were 8" flats on an odd car, either the train operator or the conductor or both would have heard them and likely felt them as well. |
