The R142 trucks are not true steerable trucks - the chevrons, like the radius arm bushings on the Kawasaki trucks, provide some degree of movement. In both cases, you want the rubber stiff enough so that the wheels don't move about at speed on tangent track yet offer some flexibility when attacking curves so that the wheels don't wear out in a few thousand miles. It's a delicate balance. |
