What surprises me is why the LIRR doesn't arrange things so that at Syosset, inbound trains stop on the outbound platform during the AM rush, and during off peak, only the last two or four would open at Syosset (so that cars aren't on the platform)? Platform gap fillers on the cars at Syosset would not help too much, because the cars are on a curve, and they lean AWAY from the curve on the inbound platform.A shorter platform will do the trick on the inbound platform. |
