My time came 11 years later after the Empty-yay was formed but there was still bits of that in 1970 from the old "TA" ... car equipment did get sent to interesting places ... but they'd ALSO send a crew qualified on the car types when things swapped. Remember, the Dyre line is STILL IND. :)The old TA did swap equipment though on a fairly frequent basis back then as new stuff started coming in. Arnines on the BMT weren't uncommon though they were IND crews running them after posting the lines. Occasionally BMT equipment would find its way to the IND also, but that was rather rare. The R9's and R10's were still pretty reliable back then. All a matter of what you were qualified on which determined what you could pick or where you could pick up "extra" ... and B1 and B2 were failry interchangeable even if BMT and IND crews tended to pick their OWN "railroad." Garbage trains were still 9 footers no matter WHOSE ashes they were hauling. =) |
