A couple of years ago, I rode the Q46 Bus from its terminal at the Nassau County border all the way to the Unio Turnpike IND station. Then I rode the F train all the way Metrotech in Brooklyn.How much of a subsidy did I get from the student who got on at 96 Street on the Lex and got off at Hunter College? It's obscene. And just think, my train was probably not as crowded as his was. I had a seat and read my magazine in comfort the whole way while he joined the rest of the sardines on the Lex. |
