The FRA restriction is outside the NEC, by the way. Amtrak has permission to do up to 150 mph where possibleNot with RTLs. FRA requires that no passengers may ride in forward (and, consequently, aft) power cars of Tier II high-speed trains. The FRA restriction thereof is all over the country, no matter what FRA rails are upgraded to 150-mph standards. |
