If you think that's bad, try "Hegewisch" station on the NICTD South Shore Line...I saw it on the map and thought it was "HEEGE-wish". Rather than making a fool out of myself, I decided to never say the station name until I knew how it was actually pronounced... turns out it was "HAYG-wish." |
