If he asks for an ID, a business card will do.Not really. Your name on a business card carries no more weight than you stating your name. Neither are considered substantial proof of identification. I usually have more than one business card in my possession (from various contacts). I could potentially hand anyone of those to a police officer. They mean absolutely nothing unless you have additional ID. Technically, according to the Supreme Court you are only required to give your identity. There is no law that requires that you give identification (unless you're driving of course). That's an important distinction that seems lost on most law enforcement. |
