Why hand him a business card? Why give him anything at all? Why risk getting your name added to some local or national or international law enforcement database which could cause you problems down the road? Additionally, the NJT Police have been known to broadcast SS#'s and other person info over the radio that anyone can hear.I'm all for a police officer responding to the public's complaints/worries and/or on his own checking out someone taking photos. But after he asks the photographer what he's doing and the photographer responds that he's a railfan taking photos of the subway legally, and the officer has no PROFF or "articulatable suspicion" of any illegal acts being done by the photographer, he should let him go at once. |
