Since I don't ride the J and M as much as I used to when I lived there, it's really noticable to me. While I have been through Bushwick and Williamsburg a few times a month in my car, I have not ridden the Broadway el until today in more than a half a year. What I find the most interesting, is all the young people that now get on at those stations. There are so many 20 somethings and 30 somethings getting on at Lorimer and Hewes now. Enough to be noticable.You never saw that even 5 to 10 years ago, at least not like this. And all the apartment buildings going up near Lorimer! That was a vast wasteland just 3 or 4 years ago. The same thing that's happening in Bushwick is happening there in Williamsburg too, but it's on such a larger scale in Williamsburg. Such huge buildings. |
