You got a few hours?

- Mechanically unreliable. If it made it thru a run, you were lucky

- Screeching brakes, the worst I ever heard

- Broken doors. Some times, only 3 or 4 door leafs actually opened

- Speed, as in lack of. They were a rolling delay

- Filth. None got exterior paintjobs after the late 70's

- Floors. Ripped up, usually patched with asphalt

- Windows were often rusted open, or shut. If they were open, better not sit down during a fierce rainstorm

R16's always had problems, more so than any other car type I can remember. Those that operated them can give more specific information on what the problems were. All I know is that the GE units (6400-6499) were the worst of the bunch (all were gone by 1983).
