The atmosphere in the air on the subway was one of genuine fear, that you may or may not "make it" to your destination with out some sort of problem.Oh, and the stench!!! Look at the floor in that train...yes, the trains smelled of filth....the stations smelled of filth... The current smell at the Canal St bridge platform on the Broadway line was the smell of a CLEAN and good station. That station would have been a breath of fresh air back then. |
