The W does a fantastic job at whats its supposed to do, take people off the N line in Queens and off the R in Manhattan. The stations along the astoria line are amung of some of the busiest in the entire subway system, and the N would usually be crush load especially after Queensboro Plaza. With the implementation of the W and its adjustment to make it local along astoria it serves the purpose well because it's local in Manhattan and Queens so for those who need 23rd they get their 1 seat ride. In Manhattan it takes a load off the R by increasing Trains Per hour along Broadway.Also the W has more people on them during rush hour between 57 and canal than the Q. |
