anyone remember the movie "Daylight"? An unnamed Hudson River tunnel, based on the Holland Tunnel, is subject to a hazmat explosion in the movie and thereafter begins to flood.

There was once an enormous hazmat fire in the Holland Tunnel in 1949, which damaged that tunnel seriously, but the tunnel didn't collapse and didn't flood - and nobody died, although 66 were hurt.
