Richmond Terrace can be very bad with all the buses heading to and from Castelton Depot and St. George Terminal and all the traffic headed from the ferry's parking lot and also the bridges. My home was only a block away of Broadway in West Brighton right across from the Dry Dock. That's very close to where I live now, I saw the American Legion there sometimes. All along Richmond Terrace though would definately require some long-needed redevelopment in order to get this North Shore Line from West Brighton down to Snug Harbor. I'm just curious as to how the stations would be though....the stations and tracks would have to be cramped in most areas to get it to fit and I'm only talking about LRT....heavy rail would require some reconstruction of Richmond Terrace in West Brighton to get both to fit without being too close to the water. But over near the Bayonne Bridge, the line is elevated so nothing really neeeded there (redevelopment-wise) but some repairs, rebuilding in some locations and of course a repaint of the viaduct through Port Richmond. |
