SEPTA had to get about a dozen of the old CTA [PCC] cars to take the place of most of the old Strafford and Bullet Cars because those cars were dying of old age [and losing their brakes far too often!], and ABB/Amtrak was fucking up the N5 order really badly [5 years between the pilot car and the production models---how PATHETIC]. The 5 Almond Joy cars were transferred when the last Bullet cars bit the dust. SEPTA was fortunate to get those old PATH K car trucks at that time [when the PA-4's were coming on line], or else the Norristown Line would have been BUSTITUTED! |
