Today's "inserts"--er, "FDNY Operations Orders" (gee, did I really say that?) are the "flavor of the day...you WILL have pistachio today, tomorrow, well, we'll make that up when we get to it"...As for the MTA griping about the MOD trips, well, it ain't possible that the line superintendents didn't know about a big pre-war subway train on their routes...kinda hard to miss, and besides, too many people hafta be in on it...moo... You're right, service civile is Dilbert times ten. Even as an EMS boss, I could tell you that...had to enforce rules that were silly, ludicrous, insane, or all three. Like the one that places the entire EMS command structure under a Fire Chief with no medical training...that's right, the Chief in Charge of EMS reports to a boss who doesn't know a defibrillator from a dipstick, yet sets policy for the EMS chief (and all the EMS crews) to follow...but I digress...I wonder if the RTO guys out there have to deal with silliness like that... |
